It might be worth trying Cannon Fodder again - I don't think it's that well hidden.

Shapes is a different matter. Without giving too much away, you can only reach it by utilizing another object.

Found the portal in cannon fodder; any hints on getting it?

Glad you got your brass rings open. It's been good for me to 'not complete' puzzles when finding the gems and portals (just a bit of a perfectionist). My husbands laughs that I 'have to get it wrong'.

Yeah, I have perfectionist tendencies too, so these puzzles drive me nuts! I only have one brass ring and timepiece to find (10pm in Shapes), how frustrating is that! I find if I turn the screen upside down or sidewise I sometimes see a new way to do something. Too bad life doesn't work that way!

There are 2 places in Shapes where there is a gap of 2 squares for 'no apparent reason' get yourself to the one on the right and you'll be in :)
