Droplet sometimes lands on wooden spike when pushed through hoop

Graham 14 years ago updated by Lewis Boadle 12 years ago 7
On a couple of occasions, I've pushed a wooden spike through a hoop, the droplet follows on behind, but then when the spike comes to a halt, the droplet ends up on top of it (doesn't kill you, you can move off again, but you're out of position). This was most noticeable in Quell Reflect, 1974, "Extraction" (which, incidentally, I did in 27 moves to your 29!!)

This was Quell Reflect v1.41 for Android, running on a (vanilla) Galaxy Note (I think it also happened in the original Quell).
Hi Graham,

Thanks for getting in touch. We've heard this reported one or twice, but it's nice to have the specifics. We'll look into it.
It happens in both quell and quell reflect. The drop is on top of the wooden block randomly rather than next to it and makes perfect solution impossible. Very frustrating.
Hey folks.

Very similar issue. I've been able to replicate it relatively easily.

When going through a hoop, swipe in the direction the droplet is travelling just before it appears in the new hoop and as it appears and I ended up on a block.

Hi Steve!

Very helpful bug report. Many thanks!
Any idea when this will be fixed? I can't get the perfect score for "Stuck in the middle" because of this :(
It is possible (at least on a Galaxy Note) to get the perfect score -- you just have to be lucky/careful (I think it took me two or three attempts once I'd found the correct solution). However, since it's presumably some subtle timing issue in the game's mechanics, it's possible that on some platforms it may never be possible.
This is fixed in the latest versions. Thanks for your help tracking it down.
